Won't turn on anymore. So after $23 and 9 months, no coffee maker again. If you want to rent this model for $20+ per year, it's fine. I think this product works fine as advertised, though nothing taller than a standard 12oz cup will fit. However, I sent the first one back after only 30 days because it stopped working. This replacement cost about $8 in shipping so it wasn't FREE. If you want something you don't have to buy again and again, it's not. Never turned on again.Had the second one for about 8 more months. Now it stopped working.
It makes great tasting coffee and the automatic shut off means I don't have to worry about a fire. I am 79 years old and am up a lot at night so this Cup-at-a-time coffee maker is perfect for me.
The dripper continues to drip once the coffee is finished. Also, leaves a little remnant water in the cup.3. I use natural colored #1 filters, and that makes cleanup simple.
You have to fill you coffee cup with water and then pour into the tank. It does not fit any cup taller than the normal cup size. It is almost impossible to do this without spilling a little water down the side of the cup, which leaves you with a wet counter.
I am very happy with this coffeemaker, and am able to make my one cup of coffee a day. So, trying to keep away the coffee stains is not really possible, and it makes this a bit messy.2. Sometimes I would prefer a slightly larger cup, but it will not fit the cup under the dripper, and it will not hold enough water to fill it up.
I have 3 complaints, but am happy overall.1. It drips after you take the cup out (no matter how long the cup is left there) and then it even drips after I take out the used filter to throw away.
Prior to this, I'd been very satisfied, but now I feel like I've thrown money down a hole. The on/off switch broke five months after I purchased this product - bought it in May 2009; switch malfunctioned in September 2009. I only make one cup of coffee a day, so it wasn't a matter of over-use.
But otherwise, it has been a great little machine. The only thing I can say (I don't use it) is that some of the taller coffee mugs won't fit under the dispenser, so be aware. I broke my roommate's glass craft for an older coffee maker, so I brought her this to replace it. She's needs her one cup of coffee every morning, and she has found that this little machine does the trick.
